Dark Whispers Challenge March - Frida Kahlo

Dark Whispers is a group inside of Digital Whispers where deeper, more emotional and darker subjects are chosen to illustrate. This month's challenge was to create an illustration using colors Frida Kahlo would use in a way to represent her life. I used the colors cobalt blue, red, black, and leaf green. The red and slight orange variations definitely portray the pain she experienced in her life. Having the monkey being cobalt blue and steampunk gives it a kind of nightmarish feeling. Frida included a monkey in several of her paintings. The green leaf symbolizes the life she wanted but had cut way too short.

The monkey was from a steampunk kit by Holliewood. The heart from an anatomical kit by Tangie Baxter. The background by Paci.
